How great is it to live so close to Philadelphia’s premiere outdoor skating rink?

The Blue Cross RiverRink is just steps away from our front door at Dockside, and it’s open every day until March 1! This weekend, to celebrate the Martin Luther King holiday, the rink has a great schedule of events and activities that includes movies, live music, trolling entertainment, happy hour specials and lots more.

On Saturday from Noon to 3pm, grab the kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews and get a sneak peek of this year’s Philadelphia Flower Show theme with a showing of Disney’s FROZEN at RiverRink! As part of the celebration, there will be FROZEN giveaways and raffles, you can have photos taken with a real life Princess and Prince Charming, and there will be free activities for families like a balloon artist, face painting, flower crown making, a sing-a-long to the FROZEN soundtrack, and, of course, ice skating!

And make sure you stop into The Lodge while you’re there: two cozy, ski chalet-style heated tents with comfy couches, indoor fireplaces, rustic decorations, and a wraparound porch complete with rockers and heat lamps. They have a spectacular winter menu and a concession stand for faster, more casual dining options, as well as a coffee shop for a variety of hot beverages. The Lodge also has a bar serving local craft beers and cocktails, and a variety of spiked hot drinks.
