Nothing like a winter snowstorm to chase away your post-holiday blues! Maybe you’re happy to just stay inside and stay warm this weekend, watching the Eagles defeat the Saints in Saturday’s NFC Wild Card showdown… and we can’t argue with that.

But if you do feel like getting out and enjoying the winter snow, there’s plenty to do in and around Dockside this weekend!

This is the final weekend for Waterfront Winterfest at Penn’s Landing, just a short walk (or sled-ride) from Dockside. Take advantage of this last weekend to enjoy Philadelphia’s only outdoor Olympic-sized skating rink, plus a great selection of local, craft beers and food concessions, and the holiday craft market.

If you feel like traveling a little further, head up to the Crossings Vineyard and Winery in Washington Crossing Sunday afternoon for an event titled “How Sweet It Is: Pairing Wine and Chocolate”… featuring delicious tips on how to pair your two favorite foods. Includes instruction, wine tasting, tour and your personal assortment of Pierre’s Chocolates. For more details, click here.

A little closer to home is the newly revitalized Ben Franklin Museum, dedicated to the life and legacy of Philadelphia’s favorite founding father. Located on Chestnut Street in Philly’s Historic District, the museum recently reopened after a two-year renovation. It’s a great way to spend an afternoon and it’s open daily from 9 am-5 pm.

Whatever you do this weekend, please be careful out there… stay safe, stay warm and have fun!
