Olympic Fever? Grab Your Skates and Head to Blue Cross RiverRink this Weekend!
Feeling inspired by all the great displays of athletic excellence in Sochi? Why not make it your goal to get on the ice this weekend – and with the Blue Cross RiverRink so close to home for Dockside residents, it couldn’t be easier!
There are a few great events happening this weekend at RiverRink. Tonight (Feb. 14) for Valentine’s Day, grab your sweetheart and hit the ice for the “Sweetheart Skate” (or maybe find your sweetheart on the ice!).
There are three sessions tonight, at 7, 9 & 11 pm. Free photos and complimentary Valentine’s Day flowers included. A DJ will host the evening, allowing guests to skate to their favorite love songs with their significant other. Tickets are $20 per person for each session and include admission and skate rental. (Advance tickets are strongly encouraged as this event has sold out in the past.)
Tomorrow (Sat., Feb 15), it’s the first-ever “Soul Mate Skate” – an event that will allow a variety of rescue groups from the Delaware Valley to feature their adoptable animals, from 12:00-4:00 p.m. Organized by Citizens for a No-Kill Philadelphia, this is a great opportunity to show your support for the rescue groups in our area… and maybe even adopt a “soul mate” pet for yourself. The event is free to attend.
If you can’t make either of these great events, hit the ice on your own schedule. The Rink is open Friday 1 pm-12:30 am; Saturday 11 am-12:30 am; Sunday 1-8:30 pm; and on Presidents’ Day Monday from 11 am-8:30 pm. And remember, the lodge is open, too – so you can enjoy some great drinks and food before or after you skate.
Happy Valentine’s Day… Happy Presidents’ Day… and happy skating this weekend!
