Here’s a fun idea for this weekend, just steps away from our doors at The Residences at Dockside! The annual celebration of Mexican Independence Day will take place on Sunday, September 14 from 1-7PM, at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing. Organized by The Mexican Cultural Center and the Consulate of Mexico in Philadelphia, the festival celebrates not only Mexican Independence, but also Mexican culture and heritage. Mexico’s rich cultural and artistic diversity is highlighted through traditional Mexican artisan crafts, renowned performers from Mexico, and children’s activities.

New to the festival this year is the pre-Columbian corner, which will feature Aztec dances and other indigenous performances. During the festival, attendees can also enjoy traditional Mexican food provided by local vendors. And you won’t want to miss the “Best Taco in the Delaware Valley” contest!

This is one of Philly’s most colorful and exciting festivals… and it’s all happening so close to home, for our Dockside residents. Just one more reason to love living on the waterfront by Penn’s Landing, at The Residences at Dockside!
