’tis the Season for… Running in Philadelphia
It may not feel completely like spring yet, but warmer weather is slowing working its way back into our lives. And with the arrival of spring, there comes a plethora of outdoor running events and marathons around the city. If you like to run and you live at Dockside, you’re in luck! Of course, you can always take a run, bike or have a nice walk along the river on the Delaware River Trail, just outside our doors here at Dockside. But for a more organized and official experience, check out one of these:
LOVE RUN HALF MARATHON, Sunday March 29, Philadelphia Museum of Art: This run is back for a second year after a hugely successful launch last year, Runners go through Center City, past historic landmarks, and into scenic Fairmount Park. The charity partner is the Philadelphia Education Supplies Fund, which supplies Philly schools with necessary classroom supplies. Details or to register: http://www.cgiracing.com/theloverun.
HOT CHOCOLATE 15/5K, Saturday April 4, Philadelphia Museum of Art: How do you say no to anything with chocolate? Proceeds from this event benefit the Ronald McDonald House, with activities before the race including goodie bags, music, a kids zone, and of course, chocolate samples. If you’re a runner, take advantage of some of these fun outdoor runs, now that we can start to come out of winter hibernation. If you don’t run, it’s still fun to get out, watch the action, and cheer on the runners!
