Get to Know One of Our Penn’s Landing Neighbors
When’s the last time you visited the Independence Seaport Museum? If it’s been a while… or if your answer is “never”… then this weekend might be a great time to check it out! The museum is an anchor attraction on Penn’s Landing, attracting visitors to experience Philadelphia’s heritage and the current waterfront. It offers changing exhibits in its galleries and hosts visiting ships and events year-round.
There’s a lot happening this weekend at the Seaport Museum. Tonight, they’re hosting a free “Astronomy Night” as part of the Philadelphia Science Festival.
Tomorrow (and every Saturday) from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. it’s “Seafarin’ Saturday” – a fun chance for kids and adults to participate in nautical activities and experience adventures of distant shores.
Then on Sunday, it’s “Explorer Sunday,” as the Museum kicks off its boat rental season, with free rowing in the basin, included with regular museum admission! The museum offers rowboats and kayak rentals from April 27 throughout the summer, with a fleet consisting of one-person and two-person kayaks and various small rowing boats.
