Our neighbors down at the Independence Seaport Museum have a special treat in store for Philadelphia and for Dockside residents this weekend. A series of boats will parade down the Delaware River on Saturday, each ship fully dressed in bright and festive lights in celebration of the holiday season. The festivities begin at 3 p.m. and end at 6 p.m., featuring carolers, Santa and more. The parade will begin at 5 p.m. and will be led by a diverse mix of boats – all of which Dockside residents should be able to see from the comfort of home, as the ships pass by around 4:55 p.m.
The event is partnered with Liberty USO, an organization that delivers gift cards to military families during the holiday season through their Liberty Clause program. The USO will have a presence during the event, where they will be accepting gift card donations from the public throughout the day.
