We couldn’t be more excited about Spruce Street Harbor Park!
There’s so much to love about summer in the city… but right now, we’re pretty psyched for the return of Spruce Street Harbor Park and the debut of Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest, Philly’s first outdoor roller skating rink – both opening for Memorial Day weekend on Friday, May 22nd!
For starters, both of these unique Philadelphia experiences are just a stone’s throw from Dockside, so our residents have easy access to some of the summer’s best festivities. This year, Spruce Street Harbor Park will feature more food and drinks from some of Philly’s best restauranteurs, an extended boardwalk and family area, plus the return of the light installation, a newly conceptualized restaurant and bar on the floating barges, and a full schedule of summer programming. What could be better than hanging out in hammocks along the water, sipping drinks under beautiful lights, and enjoying great entertainment along the river?
How about roller skating by the river on a cool summer night under a canopy of lights? Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest is a new take on the Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest site, which has proven to be so popular during the holidays and winter season. The summer roller skating rink will have state-of-the-art flooring, full skate rentals including both rollerskates and inline skates, great food and drinks, and a landscaped island in the middle of the rink.
If you love the idea of these exciting outdoor riverfront activities and you’d like to support the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation’s efforts, why not attend their annual fundraising event to benefit arts programming on the waterfront? You can buy tickets to attend the Grand Opening of Spruce Street Harbor Park, a gala event on Wednesday, May 20, from 6–9 p.m. at Spruce Street Harbor Park Promenade, Spruce Street and Columbus Boulevard. Get your tickets here… and get ready for the best summer ever in Philadelphia, all happening just steps away from The Residences at Dockside!
