Here’s a fun idea for this weekend, just steps away from our doors at The Residences at Dockside! The 203rd celebration of Mexican Independence Day will take place on Sunday, September 15 from 1-7PM, at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing. Organized by The Mexican Cultural Center, this celebration preserves the values and ideals that shaped the Mexican nation. Enjoy a taste of the rich Mexican culture at the festival and learn about Mexico’s past, while witnessing the traditional “Grito de Independencia,” a civic ceremony led by the Consul of Mexico in Philadelphia.

Live entertainment will include Mexican music, including a Mariachi band, traditional Mexican dancing and much more. In addition, authentic Mexican food and arts and crafts vendors will line the Great Plaza. Visitors are encouraged to dress in authentic Mexican attire for prizes. Guests can also meet Univision’s Ilia Garcia and the radio personalities of La Super 1360 AM Radio, broadcasting live from the Festival.
