We’ve Got Your Labor Day Weekend Planned…
Here’s our official guide for your weekend fun, as we come to the un-official end of summer. If you’re not heading down the shore or out of town for Labor Day weekend, there is plenty of fun to be had in Philly… and right near Dockside at Penn’s Landing, so you don’t have to travel far at all. Check out these options for the holiday weekend:
FRIDAY, AUG. 30, 7:30 PM – SMOOTH JAZZ SUMMER NIGHTS: FREE concert with Jonathan Butler at the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing. Fireworks over the river after the concert!
SATURDAY, AUG. 31, 9:15 PM – FIREWORKS OVER THE RIVER: Spectacular fireworks display from the Penn’s Landing Marina
SATURDAY/SUNDAY, AUG. 31/SEPT. 1, 1-7 PM – PADDLE PENN’S LANDING: Enjoy the beautiful waterfront by kayak or foot-pedal swan boat. Rent a boat and enjoy the atmosphere in a safe, supervised environment at the Penn’s Landing Marina, located just south of the Hyatt Hotel, where the water is calm and the boaters will be removed from the traffic of the Delaware River. Kayak rental is $8 per person and includes a 10-minute overview on basic strokes, safety tips and supervision while on the water. The pedal swan boats cost $5 per person and are ideal for families with children under the age of 12. Children under 3 are FREE.
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 9:15 AM – TRI-STATE LABOR DAY PARADE: What’s Labor Day without a parade? Begins at 1301 S. Columbus Boulevard and Washington Avenue and travels north to the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing, where participants will celebrate the festival from 11AM – 2PM. Face painting, magicians, crafts, games, food, live music and much more!
If we have to say goodbye to summer, we can’t think of a better way to celebrate… and all just steps from our door at Dockside.
Whatever you do this weekend, be safe and have a blast!
