It’s a big winter weekend, starting with Friday the 13th… then Valentine’s Day on Saturday… and Presidents’ Day on Monday! There are plenty of activities going on in and around the city for the long holiday weekend – check out visitphilly.com/events for a full calendar of options – but here’s something sure to be a hit for Valentine’s Day: grab your sweetheart and head over to the Blue Cross RiverRink for their annual Sweetheart Skates!

Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest is a popular destination all winter, and it’s great for Dockside residents because it’s so close to home. The rink is particularly popular during this romantic time of year. This year, the Sweetheart Skates will be available for four sessions on Saturday February 14: 5 – 6:30pm, 7 – 8:30 pm,  9 – 10:30 pm, and 11pm – 12:30am. Free photos and complimentary Valentine’s Day flowers are included. A DJ will host the evening, so you and your sweetheart can skate to your favorite love songs. Tickets for the Sweetheart Skate are $20 per person for each session and include admission and skate rental. (Advance tickets are strongly encouraged as this event has sold out in the past). Champagne will be sold at the bar, with a special 2 glasses for 1 from 6-10PM for you and your date.

In addition to the Sweetheart Skates on Saturday, the rink will be open extra hours for the holiday weekend: Sunday and Monday from 11 am to 10:30 p.m.
